Soul - inspired Alys is a Welsh multi - instrumentalist from Cardiff.

As soon as the world was bright, Alys sang. Born in the music room in her family home, melody surrounded her. Piano was her first love, soon followed by her trusty guitar. Music is part of the fabric of her being: thinking and seeing in it. She sings literally wherever she goes.

Alys was nominated for best song this year in the Wigwam Awards, coming third place. She was also the winner of Best Female Solo in the Love Live Music awards 2025 and 3rd place in Best Solo Female in the Wigwam Radio Awards. Also nominated for the prestigious Snack Mag’s Single Of The Year Award.

Alys will electrify you with her folky infused rhythms and passionate vocals. Wailing with feeling, with a backing to match. She has recently been made a Resident Jazz Singer at the new Lolfa in Machynlleth, Mid -Wales.

Alys’ debut album was created as a nine part series of epigrammatic songs serving an anecdotal comment on modern life. Soulful, punchy and playful, Alys’ album serves the pop world with her unique folky and soulful twist.

She is working on her second album…

Currently performing throughout Cardiff at venues such as Paradise Garden, and Bank Vault in Aberystwyth, she continues to tour around the UK, as well as performing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Eden, Kelburn, Green Man and The National Eisteddfod with her Welsh language songs. In 2022, Alys traveled overseas to Galway and the surrounding Arran islands to play at a Celtic festival. This was a highlight for her. Most recently she travelled to Normandy in Northern France to perform two intimate gigs.

Gruff Rhys, Charlotte Church, Dafydd Iwan & Twm Morris are just some of the names Alys has performed alongside.

Expect eclectic, energetic & soulful sounds that will make you want to both dance and cry. Alys wails with feeling, with a backing to match. Taking inspiration from greats such as Bill Withers, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Paolo Nutini, and The Beatles, Alys has always had high aspirations and dreams. To make it here was one of them...

Alys has lived both in the countryside and the inner city. This contributes to her eclectic feeling.

“In search of the city’s grit, I moved away to Glasgow’s Southside in the summer of ‘22. It was a vibrant experience of music and friendship and I really learned a lot from those infamous Scottish crowds!” - Alys

If you would like me to come and play in your town, please do not hesitate to drop me an email and I will do my best to come!

All my love, Alys x
